Biography

Mija Risteljić was born on December 7, 1997.  in Kotor. 
She began her music education at the age of eight, in the class of Prof. Tijana Mitic.
She finished elementary music school and the first two years of high school at ŠOSMO "Vida Matjan" in Kotor, continued her education in Belgrade, at the music school "Josip Slavenski", in the class of Prof. Jovan Popović, where she graduated.
She has won numerous awards at international and domestic competitions, in the solo cello discipline, as well as in chamber ensembles.
She had her first solo performance with the orchestra at the String Festival, of which she has been a member since its founding.
In 2013, she performed with the international orchestra "Tutti Serbia", as part of the project "World Music".
She attended a master class with prominent professors of cello and chamber music around the world: Georg Baich (Vienna), Boža Saramandić (Serbia), Ventseslav Nikolov (Bulgaria), Srdjan Sretenović (Serbia), Aleksandar Latković (Serbia), Jorg Zwicker (Vienna), Dejan  Bozic (Serbia), Annette Cleary (Ireland), Mikhail Bereznitsky (Russia), Srboljub Dinic (Serbia), etc.
In 2018, she performed at the Wiener Musikverein concert hall with the MUK Orchestra (Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien).
She completed her bachelor's degree in 2021 at the Vienna Conservatory (MUK), where she was educated in the class of Professor Georg Baich.
She enrolled in master's studies at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels (KCB), in the class of Prof. Viviane Spanoghe.
