Biography

Iris Scialom is a french violonist born in 2001. She entered the Paris Conservatory at the age of 13 in Stéphanie-Marie Degand’s class. Iris is a laureate of numerous international competitions such as Tibor Varga Junior, where she played with Gidon Kremer and the Kremerata Baltica and obtained the 2nd Prize, the Mirecourt Competition, where she played the Brahms concerto accompanied by the Symphonic and Lyric Orchestra of Nancy at the Salle Poirel conducted by Julien Masmondet, or the Ginette Neveu competition in Avignon where she won the contemporary piece Prize, the 3rd Prize and the Public Prize. In February 2021, she made her debut on France Musique radio, playing Tzigane and Kaddish by Ravel. In June 2021, she played the 3rd movement of Mendelssohn's Concerto at the Seine Musicale with the Ensemble Appassionato. Iris is also interested in playing historical instruments, theatre, contemporary repertoire, Indian music, opera singing, arranging music, ethnomusicology and jazz. She is very involved in the sharing of music, particularly in the context of the cultural actions with EHPAD, leisure centers, medical-social centers and hospitals. Iris is also an artist committed to the environmental cause so that her work has a positive impact on the world.
