Biography
Lora Markova is born on July 14th, 2003 in Sofia, Bulgaria and at the age of 5 started studying the violin with Mrs. Blagorodna Taneva in The National School of Music “Lyubomir Pipkov”, Sofia. She is a laureate of major prizes from international violin competitions; to name some of them:
- First Prize from the International Competition “Young Virtuosos”, Sofia 2013,
- Gran Prix from the International Stringed Competition, Nis 2013,
- Third Prize from the International Competition “Andrea Postacchini”, Italy 2014
- Third Prize from the International Competition “Picollo Violino Magico”, Italy 2017
- Grand Prix from the International Competition “Music and Earth”, Sofia 2018
- Second Prize from the “International Violin Competition” Odessa 2018
- Second Prize from the International Competition “Convertino Praga”, Praga 2019
- First Prize from “Leonid Kogan” International Violin Competition, Brussels 2020
- Absolute First prize from the International Competition “Danubia Talents” , Hungary 2021
- First Prize from the International Competition “Music Singapore”, Singapore 2021
- First Prize from Tibor Varga Junior Competition, Sion Switzerland 2021
She took part in many festivals and concerts in France, Italy, Switzerland, USA, Germany, Portugal, Greece and Belgium.
She has been taking part in master classes with, Prof Michael Frischenschlager, prof. Dora Schwartzberg, prof. Zachar Bron, prof. Ivry Gitlis, prof. Pavel Vernikov, prof. Svetlana Makarova, prof. Svetlin Roussev, prof. Vesko Eshkenazi and others.
