Po-Fan Chen, born in 01/06/1998, comes from Kaohsiung City, Taiwan(R.O.C)
He began to play violin at 8 years old and took private lessons with Natalia Yukhina.
In 2014 he moved to Germany to complete his Bachelor studies under the guidance of Prof. Michael Vaiman in the HFMT Koeln. He is currently studying Master at the HfMDK in Frankfurt with Prof. Sophia Jaffe.
He is first prize winner of several competitions in Taiwan and has been recognised with prizes in many international competition such as “Malaga music festival” Spain (1st prize), “OSAKA INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION” Japan(“Espoir prize”), “Leonid Kogan international competition for young musician”Brussel (3rd prize), “Brigitte Kempen Wettbewerb”Aachen (2nd prize).
He has been invited to perform as a soloist in Taiwan, Japan, Spain, Poland , Italy, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland.
He has taken part in several masterclasses as a active students such as Malaga(Spain) , Brescia, Verona(Italy), Salzburg “Sommerakademie” (Austria).
Currently he is playing on a “Eugene Degani” violin, an old italian instrument borrowed from Chimei Museum.
