Biography
Born in 2001 in Ferrol, A Coruña Spain, Pablo Teijeiro started his cello studies at the age of 8, in the Xan Viaño Conservatory, in his birth city, with the teacher Pablo Ponga, with whom he studied until 2019. Additionally, he studied with Filarmonica de Galicia cellist Thomas Piel, who taught and guided Pablo from 2011 until 2019.He is currently studying under Judith Ermert in the Royal Conservatory of Ghent since September 2019.
Pablo was a member of Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia's program of young orchestras and in the Davis Youth Symphony in Utah, USA.
Through his musical life he received numerous masterclasses and advice from masters such as Frans Helmerson, Johannes Moser, Stefan Popov, María de Macedo, Pablo Ferrández, Amit Peled, Rainer Eudeikis, Carolina Landriscini, Suzana Stefanovic, Michal Dmochowski, Helena Poggio and Miguel Jiménez among others.
He has participated in numerous concerts, with the highlight of his debut as a soloist with orchestra in 2015 in the Auditorio de Ferrol and debut recital in march 2017 during the Compostela Sound festival, in Santiago de Compostela.
At the age of 9 he was awarded first prize in the Concurso de Cuerdas” Xan Viaño”, in 2013 he was a finalist II Concurso de Cuerdas organized by the AGIC and receives the Jury's special mention in the next edition in 2014, year in which he also receives the prize David Russell for New Talents.
In 2015 he is awarded 2nd place in the Soncello National Competiton for young cellists, in 2016 he is awarded with the 3rd place in the renowned Concurso Nacional de nuevas promesas del Violonchelo “Jaime Dobato Benavente” in Alcañiz.
