Mabel Alejandra Rodriguez Romero

Biography

Born 1992 in Coro-Venezuela, she started her viola lessons in the famous music education program from Venezuela well known as “El Sistema”, founded by Maestro Jose Antonio Abreu. In 2011 Mabel became member of the Simon Bolivar orchestra Venezuela, led by Gustavo Dudamel. With this orchestra, Mabel Rodriguez played important orchestral repertoire in many famous concert halls, like the Berliner Philharmonie, Kölner Philharmonie, Philharmonie am Gasteig (München), Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Philharmonie Paris, Teatro alla Scala (Milan), Auditorium Nacional de Madrid, Philharmonie Luxembourg, South Bank Center London, Carnegie Hall (New York), Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles), etc. As well as Festivals: Voces de America latina in Carnegie Hall New York, BBC Proms in London 2011, International Music Festival in Istanbul 2011, Mahler Project Festival 2012 - TchaikovskyFest 2014 and Immortal Beethoven Festival 2015 in Los Angeles, Salzburger Festspiele 2013. This orchestra represents millions of youth in Latin America whose lives have been changed through classical music. In the next five years, she started to build her artistic profile. 

After several international projects, she was inspired to begin her studies in Europe.

Since 2016 Mabel study with Professor Alexander Zemtsov, at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Cologne. In Germany, Mabel Rodriguez has participated in several projects with ensembles, symphony orchestras, where she has greatly expanded and developed her orchestra playing. In 2019 she won the audition for the intern position in the “WDR Funkhausorchester” Cologne. 

As a chamber musician she has been playing in different projects and concerts in Germany. It is worth highlighting her participation with Villa Musica where she recently play concerts with the Pianist Claire Huangci. As well with her own ensamble Alma Trio Köln, where She played in festivals like the Pulheim Kammermusiktage, Kölner Bühnensommer 2021 in the city of Cologne.

After her participation in Talent Music Master Courses 2020, Mabel performed as a soloist with the Master Orchestra in Verona. 

Currently, Mabel Rodriguez has an intern position in the Bochumer Symphoniker, Germany.
