Biography

After watching his first cello recital at the age of four, Alexander Talaifar discovered his love and interest in music and specifically the cello. Ever since, he has embarked on a pursuit of the arts and garnering a career in music.

Alexander entered his first music specialist school in 2006 (age 9), the Crowden Music School in Berkeley California. From there he immigrated to the UK (in 2009), where he would study at the Wells Cathedral School and graduated from Chethams’ School of Music in 2015. Throughout these years, Alexander studied with world renown professors such as Irene Sharp, Gillian Thoday and Nicolas Jones. He is currently studying with Felix Schmidt at the Royal Academy of Music, where he received his Bachelors degree and is currently working on his Masters.

During his years of study and travel, Alexander has competed in and won several competitions for both solo and chamber music. He has performed all over Europe including locations such as the Wigmore Hall and Kings Place. After many years of working in orchestral projects and music theatre of the highest calibre, Alexander is now building a career performing chamber music and performing/recording solo cello works.
