Biography

Born in 1999 in Bihor, Romania, Rebecca Cojan has started taking piano lessons at the age of five under the careful guidance of prof. Angela Pascu. She continued her studies at the National College of Art in Bacău until 2018, graduating as a Valedictorian. Rebecca made her debut at the age of 11 with the “Mihail Jora” Philharmonic Orchestra in Bacău, and has continued her collaboration with the institution ever since. Among the many competitions in which she took part, the most notable results obtained are:

- First Prize at the National Olympics of Musical Interpretation (2012 and 2012)
- First Prize at the International ProPiano Competition in Bucharest (2010)
- First Prize and Special Prize at the “Spring Arts” National Competition in Bacau (2011)
- First Prize, Special Prize and “Bogdan Ota” Association Prize at Piano ArtIs International Competition in Iași (2016)
- First Prize and two Special Prizes at Constanța International Competition for Young Pianists (2019)

In november 2020, being a laureate of the former edition, she played at the Gala Concert of Constanța International Competition for Young Pianists, accompanied by the orchestra of “Oleg Danovski” National Theatre of Opera and Ballet. Rebecca Cojan has also taken part in master classes held by the following pianists: Jean-Bernard Pommier, Boris Berman, Denis Pascal, Gottlieb Wallisch, Dana Borșan, Ana Mirabela Dina, Eugene Alkalay.

Since 2018, Rebecca is studying piano performance at the National Academy of Music “Gheorghe Dima” in Cluj-Napoca, under the guidance of Prof. Daniel Goiți.
