Hao-Wen Chang

Biography

Taiwanese pianist Hao-Wen Chang began studying piano at age 5, and pursues a life-long passion for music. Haowen was studying at a Music Talent School in Taiwan from 2007 to 2019. Her primary teachers included Ling-Wei Chuang, Dr. Chia-Huei Ai, and Dr. Chun-Chieh Yen. Haowen was a semifinalist in the International Competition in Chiang-Mai, Thailand. She won 4th Prize at the Hong-Kong International Music Festival, and Preliminary Gold Award of USCI international festival and competition. In 2020, she won the 1st prize of UMTA concerto competition and has was selected to participate in the Atlantic Music Festival. She has performed ten concerts in Taiwan since 2010. Haowen has performed in a public masterclasses with Boris Berman, Bernd Goetzke, Marina Lomazov, Anderson and Roe, among others. She has been selected to participate in the International Taipei Maestro Piano Festival, Music Fest Perugia, and the Steinway Festival. She currently studies with Dr. Cahill Smith at Utah State University.
