Biography
Born in Luxembourg, Cyprien Keiser received his first cello lessons at the age of four at the « Académie Musicale Vivaldi » in Luxembourg. He continued his musical studies at the « Musikschule der Stadt Bonn » (Germany), « Ecole de Musique de Dudelange » and in Metz (FR) at the « Conservatoire Gabriel Pierné ».
Since 2013 Cyprien is student at the “Conservatoire d’Esch-surAlzette” (Luxembourg) in the class of Jean Halsdorf.
He regularly participates at master classes in Romania with Prof. Dr. Marin Cazacu, in Luxembourg with the first cello of the OPL Ilia Laporev, in Germany with Prof. Gustav Rivinius, Prof. Maria Kliegel and Daniel MüllerSchott and in France with Prof. Jérôme Pernoo .
He participated at several international music academies, such as “Musica Mundi” in Genval, Belgium, ISA (Internationale Sommer Akademie) in Vienna and “Pablo Casals” in Prades, France.
Cyprien won various competitions. He was first prizewinner for solo and chamber music (trio) at the “Concours Artistique d’Epinal” (France), he won the 1st prize at the “International Competition for Cello” in Liezen (Austria) and received several times the SACEM prize and the gold medal at the European Competition for Young Soloists (Luxembourg) and “Concours Luxembourgeois pour Jeunes Solistes”.
In 2014 he was invited to play with the Symphonic Orchestra “Serghei Lunchievici” in the Republic of Moldova. In the same year he toured with a chamber music project in Germany and Austria organised by the EMCY (European Union of Music Competitions for Youth).
In February 2016 Cyprien successfully passed the exam to be admitted as a bachelor student to Jérôme Pernoo’s class at the “Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris” (CNSMDP). In 2017 he obtained the « Prix Supérieur avec Grande Distinction » at the « Conservatoire d’Eschsur-Alzette».
In 2018 Cyprien was fortunate enough to be invited to play Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations with the « Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra » and the same year Jérôme Pernoo’s class was invited to participate at the music festival « Super Cello » in China where they performed multiple concerts in cities such as Beijing, Huangshan and Shanghai.
