Biography

Ryo Terukina, born in Yokohama in Japan. He began studying the piano at the age of 9, with the teacher Madoka Togo, then with Kosuke Nara. In addition, he followed master classes with well-known masters Yukio Ishizuka, Imre Rohmann, John Oconor, Sergio Perticaroli, Luigi Abbate, Prosseda Roberto.

In June 2009 he was awarded at the Kanagawa competition (Japan).

In July 2010, he won the audition for the soloists' concert, held at the Showa Music Academy, then, in November 2010, he played with excellent acclaim, the Ravel en sol concert with the Orchestra of the Teatro Giglio Showa ( Japan).

Graduated brilliantly in March 2011 at the Showa Music Academy in Kanagawa (Japan), he was selected as a soloist, for the concerts of the entrants of Yomiuri and Yokohama etc.

In February 2011 he won the audition for piano accompaniment, held at the Tokyo International Association of Artists, and in June 2011, he held a piano recital (also in Tokyo).

In 2010 he met Maestro Luigi Tanganelli at the masterclass in Schiavon (VI) with a scholarship offered by the Showa Music Academy and in 2011 he moved to Italy to enroll in the "Bruno Maderna" conservatory in Cesena at the first level academic course always under the guide of Maestro Luigi Tanganelli.

In February 2013 he held a solo recital at the auditorium of the "Bruno Maderna" conservatory.

In July 2013 he followed the specialization course held by Mº Luigi Tanganelli, Norcia 31st International Course of Musical Interpretation.

In July 2013 he participated, as an accompanying pianist, in the Italian Brass Week 2013 International Brass Festival 14th edition organized by La Settima Musa which was held in Cesena and Bertinoro.

In September 2013 he participated, as a master collaborator, in the staging of the opera Falstaff by G. Verdi organized by the conservatory of Cesena in collaboration with the conservatories of Pesaro and Ferrara.

In April 2014 he obtained the first prize in the 2nd international piano competition "Notes in harmony 2014" in category F.

In August 2014 he held a piano recital in Tokyo, held at the "Liberté" musical association.

In October 2014 he graduated the first level in piano at the "Bruno Maderna" Conservatory of Music in Cesena under the guidance of Maestro Tanganelli with full marks and honors.

In 2015 he participated, as master collaborator, in the staging of the opera Orfeo and Euridice by C. W. Gluck organized by the Cesena conservatory.

In July 2015 he followed the master course held by Mº Luigi Tanganelli, International music master classes 24th edition which was held in Bagno di Romagna.

In February 2016 he obtained the second prize at the virtuoso London Grand Prize competition 2016.

In June 2016 he won first prize at the Salzburg Grand Prize Virtuoso 2016 competition, then in July 2016 he played at the winners' concert held at the Mozarteum auditorium in Salzburg.

In July 2016 he held a piano recital in Lido di Classe (RA), held at the musical association "Chorus".

In July 2016 he obtained the first prize in the Golden Classic Music Awards competition, then in March 2017 he played at the winners concert which was held at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.

In October 2016 he participated, as a master collaborator, in the staging of the opera The wedding of Figaro by W. A. Mozart organized by the Cesena conservatory.

In December 2016 he obtained the first prize in the competition of 14th international competition for young musicians "Città di Paola".

In March 2017 he graduated the second level in master collaborator at the "Bruno Maderna" Conservatory of Music in Cesena under the guidance of the teacher Pia Zanca with full marks and honors.

In April 2017 he obtained the third prize in the 24th national piano competition "Giulio Rospigliosi".

In June 2017 he held a piano recital in Florence, held at the Musica Europa cultural association.

In June 2018 he obtained the second prize in the 9th competition "Crescendo Prize" in the chamber music section.

In September 2018 he held a piano recital in Tokyo, held at the "Liberté" musical association.

In April 2019 he held a duo concert with violin in Caserta, held at the Amici della musica di Terra di Lavoro.

In April 2019 he obtained the third prize in the 10th international competition for young musicians in the chamber music category.

In April 2019, he obtained the second prize in the 12th national music performance competition Città di Piove di Sacco in the chamber music category.

In May 2019, a trio concert took place in Rome, held at the Academy of Spain.

In May 2019 he participated in the Trame Sonore chamber music festival in Mantua.

In June 2019 he held a duo concert with cello in Florence, held at the Musica Europa cultural association.

In August 2019 he held a duo concert with cello in Montesenario, held at the Musica Europa cultural association.

In August 2019 he held a piano recital in Tokyo, held at the "Liberté" musical association.

In October 2019 he held a duo concert with violin in Rome, held at the Il Tempietto cultural association.

He currently attends the chamber music improvement course in the class of Carlo Fabiano and the piano improvement course in the class of Piero Grazzini at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome.
