Estonia, Tartu Tartu Violin
Linda Lukas is a violinist originally from Tartu, Estonia. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Music degree at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre under the hand of Kristina Kriit. Her violin teachers have also been Andres Leivategija and Kadri Palu.
Since her studies in Heino Eller Music College in the years 2007-2019, Linda started taking interest in classical and jazz improvisation, which have been a great influence on her playing style. She has been inspired by the music of theatre, having the opportunity to act in Vanemuine Theatre for 6 years, arrange and play the violin in the theatre field.
Linda has participated in classical violin masterclasses by Lisa Jacobs, Mi-Kyung Lee, Mari Tampere-Bezrodny, Anna-Liisa Bezrodny, Boris Abramov, Stanislav Pronin, Rūta Lipinaitytė, Arvo Leibur, Kaido Välja, Florian Donderer, Nicolas Dautricourt, etc., various music festivals/courses, national and international competitions. She won the South-Estonian String Competition in 2015 and regional competitions in 2014 and 2016, received the 3rd prize in the Competition of Young Interprets of Estonian Music Schools in 2014, the second prize in the Competition “The Best Young Instrumentalist” (Tallinn, 2016) and the 1st prize in the International Baltic Competition for Young Musicians (Riga, 2017).
In addition to her solo career, Linda has performed with many different ensembles, including the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Järvi Academy Youth Symphony and Chamber Orchestras, and different quintets and quartets. She has been a soloist in front on Heino Eller Tartu Music College’s and Emīls Dārziņš Music School’s symphony orchestras.
