Tom Feltgen

Biography
Tom Feltgen is currently studying with Jelena Očić at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and is expecting to obtain his Master Diploma in 2022. He recently received his Bachelor’s degree under the leadership of Gideon den Herder. He completed the young talent class in the class of Adnana and Gustav Rivinius at the Hochschule für Musik Saar, Saarbrücken, in 2016.
Recently, Tom received the 3rd Prize and the Splendor Prize at the National Cello Competition of the Netherlands in October 2020. Other prizes and awards include the Incentive Prize at the National Cello Competition during the Cellobiennale 2018 and 2 Gold Medals at the “Concours pour jeunes Solistes” in Luxemburg. Tom is boursary of the Fondation Michelle.
Past accomplishments include the “Diplôme Supérieur” with distinction in Luxembourg Conservatoire and the “Diplôme de Concert” with distinction at the Schola Cantorum in Paris, where he studied since age 16 under french-german cellist Manfred Stilz.
Many courses and masterclasses gave him the possibility to work with David Geringas, Troels Svane, Marco Ylönen, Gary Hoffman, Niall Brown, Reinhard Latzko and Daniel Müller-Schott. Tom gained experience as a soloist performing a selection of concerti of Haydn, Dvorak, Gulda and Shostakovich with a.o. Luxembourg Philharmonia and Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg.
Tom is currently playing a cello “Jules Grandjon”, Paris, ca. 1850.
