Hyunah Pyo

Biography
Hyunah Pyo was born in South-Korea in 2001, she started her cello study at the age of six. Since 2019, she is studying at Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf with Pieter Wispelwey. Before studying with him she studied with Jeong Joo Choi and Angela Park.
In 2010 at the age of nine, she gave her first concerto performance at the Gyeonggi Art Center and she has performed with the Seoul Orchestra, Yongin Philharmonic Orchestra and New Russia State Symphony Orchestra.
In 2016 she joined Kronberg Academy and took a masterclass given by Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt. She also took part in masterclasses given by Myung Wha Jung, Arto Noras, Frans Helmerson, Jens Peter Maintz and Steven Isserlis.
In 2012 won the first prize in Ewha & Kyunghyang Competition and Haneum Music Competition in Korea. Two years later she won the fourth prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians in Moscow. In 2017 she won Grand prix in Hanye Music Competition. In 2021, She won the first prize at the International Moscow music competition, North International Music Competition, King's Peak International Music Competition, and the second prize at the Primuz International Strings Competition.
In recitals she has performed at the Kumho Prodigy Openning Concert, Kumho Prodigy Solo Recital, and she has taken part in Seoul Spring Chamber Festival in Korea, Calahorra International Festival of Chamber Music in Spain.
