Biography
Maja Anna Famuła is a polish violinist born in 2000 in Piekary Śląskie in Silesia.
In 2019 she graduated with distinction from the School of Music of F.Chopin in Bytom under professor Joanna Cogiel. On her final year she passed the entrance exams for the Preparatory Programme at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, where she studied in the class of professor Anna Gutowska.
She is currently studying with professor Ioana Cristina Goicea at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna (Diploma Programme Instrumental Study Violin) where she previously studied with professor Edward Zienkowski.
Maja Famuła is a laureate of many solo- and chamber music competitions, national and international:
Solo awards:
- 1st prize in Europe at the Music International Grand Prix Competition in Semifinal
- 1st prize at the VI National Violin Competition in Cieszyn
- 2nd prize at the International String Instruments Competition in Elbląg
- 3rd prize at the V National Violin Competition in Toruń
- 3rd prize at the VII Youth Competition of Tadeusz Wroński for Solo Violin
- Distinction at the 40th National Bach Competition of Stanisław Hajzer in Zielona Góra,
- Distinction at the National Hearings of the Centre of Artistic Education (CAE),
- Distinction at the XII and XIV National Forum for Youth Instrumentalists of Karol and Antoni Szafranek in Rybnik,
- Distinction at the I National Violin Competition ,,Witold Rowicki in Memoriam” in Żywiec,
- Distinction at the VII International Violin Competition of Janina Garścia in Stalowa Wola
Chamber music awards:
- 1st prize at the XVI National String Ensembles Competition of Grażyna Bacewicz in Łódź
- 2nd prize and special prize for the best interpretation of a polish piece at the National Musical Meetings ,,As a tribute to the Independent 1918-2018”
- 3rd prize at the XIV National Forum for Youth Instrumentalists of Karol and Antoni Szafranek in Rybnik
- Distinction at the VIII International Competition of Contemporary Music for Children and Youth ,,SREBRNA SZYBKA"

- Distinction at the XXXV Chamber Music Competition of Secondary Schools Ensembles in Wrocław
Maja Famuła performed as a soloist with Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra in Katowice, Accademia dell Arco String Orchestra in Żywiec and Saba Orchestra in Vienna.
She participated in Masterclasses with world-famous professors: Elisabeth Kropfitsch, Dominika Falger, Wladislaw Winokurow, Tomasz Tomaszewski, Jan Stanienda, Adam Mokrus.
