Tzu-Shao Chao

Biography

Tzu-Shao Chao is a 20 years old Taiwanese and he studies now with Prof. Maria Kliegel at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. He has studied cello since aged four.

When he was in Taiwan, he attended National Students’ Music Competition(which be held in every two years) four times, and got good scores. In December of 2015, he was invited to Novosibirsk in Russia for the 9th International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians, and was qualified to the semi-final contest.In February of 2020, he attended Anna Kull International Cello Competition which held in Graz, Austria. He was the one of finalists and got the Special Award.

Throughout the years, he joined several cello master classes and music festivals in Taiwan and other countries, so he can study with many famous cellists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Reiner Ginzel, Marion Feldmann, Chu Yi- Bing, Alexander Rudin, Phillipe Muller, Marc Coppey, Jens-Peter Maintz and Wen-Sinn Yang.
