Biography
Tang Hsing Lien was born in Tainan, Taiwan. At age six, he began learning piano and violin, and then he tried to compose and improvise himself. Lien is currently studying at Tainan National University of the Arts. He had Prof. Grace Chung as his piano teacher from 2015 to 2020 and has Mikhail Kollontay as his piano teacher at present. He is quite interested in and passionate about classical music since learning it. Lien enjoys performing, thinking about, and researching on classical pieces.
Lien has attended masterclasses by Wei-Lung Li, Yi-Chih Lu, Chun-Chieh Yen, Chiao-Han Liao, Cecilia Li, Deborah Lee, Andrei Yeh, Gábor Farkas, Yu-Lin Emma Shen, Lei Weng, Ilana Vered, Ursula Oppens, Benedetto Lupo, Ian Jones, John Perry, Boris Slutsky, Victoria Mushkatkol, Sara Tal, Joseph Rackers, Alexey Chernov and so on. He has also participated in music festivals, including 2019 Maestro Piano Festival in Taiwan and 2019 Music Fest Perugia in Italy. So far he has attended and won several international competitions such as 2018 2nd International Taipei Taiwan Piano Competition, the 6th International Young Pianist Competition in Japan, and the 63rd Grotrian International Piano Competition in Germany.

In 2018, the 2nd International Taipei Taiwan Piano Competition as the First Prize in C Group.
In 2018, the 6th International Young Pianist Competition in Japan as the First Prize in Public A Group.
In 2018, the 63rd International Grotrian Piano Competition in the preliminary section of M1 Experienced Group as the First Prize.
