Andres Ayerbe

Biography
Andres Ayerbe is an 18 year old cellist from Houston, Texas. He is currently working on a dual degree in Cello Performance and Data Science at the University of Michigan, studying under Richard Aaron. Prior to entering university, he placed first in the Senior string division of the 2019 Clear Lake Concerto Competition and in the 2019 Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra Concerto competition and performed with both of their ensembles in the spring of that year. In the summer of 2019, he attended the Meadowmount School of Music where he studied with Julia Lichten and was chosen to perform in masterclasses with Lynn Harrell and Jeffrey Solow. Andres has also performed in masterclasses with the members of the Juilliard Quartet, Clive Greensmith, Hannah Roberts, and Brinton Smith. In addition, Andres participated in the TMEA all-state orchestras and the Houston Youth Symphony throughout his high school career. Being a part of HYS, Andres was also in a string quartet that played in a variety of outreach performances that brought classical music to underprivileged areas, something he wishes to continue throughout his musical career.
