Biography
The Korean violinist Sunyoul Choi is a versatile artist who works equally well passionately playing solo, chamber music and orchestra.
He celebrated numerous national and international successes as a prize winner Competitions and as final list. Most recently he won ‘18th Padova International Competition Virutuoso‘ as 1 st Prize, ‘2nd France Music Competition 2020’ as 1 st Prize and ‘Les Musicales Du Center the Lending Competition in 2020’ as First Named,
Sunyoul was also recently invited to the Lucern Festival Academy 2020 (Artistic Director Wolfgang Rihm) and it will be held in KKL, Luzern Hall , Luzern Concerto Hall, Berliner Philharmonie, Berlin with valuable Modern Programm.
As a soloist he has already given concerts with the Seoul Symphony Orchestra, Korea National Military Symphony Orchestra and the Ippolitov Chamber Orchestra. it further play to concerts in South Korea, Italy, Germany and Austria followed as a Soloist and Chamber Musician, e.g. Winer Saal in Salzburg, Sardinia , Atri in Italy etc.
For Orchestral Music Activities he also worked temporarily in Deutsch Radio Philharmonie Saarbrucken Kaiserslautern while studying for his master’s degree.
Grew up in Korea, he started his musical career at the age of 10 years. After graduating from Seoul Arts High School, he graduated the Yonsei University in Seoul with Dong-Suk Kang and Yung-Mi Cho.
He also received important musical instincts from Viviane Hagner, Ik-Hwan Bae, Roman Simovic (London Symphony Leader) , Gordan Nikolitch (Nethrland Chamber Orchester Leader), Mintcho Mintchev , Ida Bieler, Dora Bratchkova and Sergey Kravchenko.
After his Master degree with Viviane Hagner at Mannheim University of music and Performing Arts. He is studying now his Concert Exam’s degree with Prof. Gordan Nikolitch at Saar University of music and Performing Arts.
