Biography
Elizabeth Low is a 21 year old part Singaporean, part Belarusian pianist, born and raised in Singapore. Her musical journey as a pianist started at a tender age of 3, with her mother and siblings.
While in high-school, Elizabeth was accepted into a prestigious youth programme, the Young Artist Programme for talented young musicians in the National University of Singapore, Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of music, allowing her to enter the conservatory as an undergraduate before the completion of high-school. Recently she completed her final year and obtained her Bachelor’s of music in piano performance at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YSTCM), under the musical guidance of Professor Thomas Hecht, an American pianist, a Steinway Artist & pedagogue.
Her passion for the piano and performance has earned her several positions in competitions. In the National Piano and Violin Competition 2015, Elizabeth was one of the grand finalists of the senior category. She also emerged top 6 in the 3rd Steinway Youth Piano Competition 2016. Her recent brilliant performance of Mendelssohn’s first piano concerto resulted in her clinching onto the 2nd prize in the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory concerto competition 2019, as well as 2nd prize in the Indonesia international piano competition 2019, where she was highly commended by renowned French pianist, Pascal Rogé.
Other than playing the piano, Elizabeth has great interests in multiple hobbies that plays a significant role in shaping her as a musician and an artist. Such hobbies include singing, photography, videography, playing the violin, painting and a growing hobby in sports.
