Biography
Born into a passionate musician family, Julian Jakob Schad started playing various instruments at the age of 5. With apperances on stage as a drummer, trumpet player, pianist and violinist, being an artist, was the only option for the young musician, choosing violin as his main instrument at the age of 18.
In 2017 he started his Bachelor of Arts at the Hochschule für Musik Luzern and finished with honours in March 2021 at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg with Prof. Sebastian Hamann.
Since 2009 , Julian Jakob serves as concertmaster of the youth orchestra Frisch Gestrichen e.V. , founded by his father, Nils Schad, a violinist of the Munich Philharmonics, which purpose is playing concerts and donating to people and institutions in financial need.
He has won different prices and scholar ships, such as 3rd price at the Bundeswettbewerb of „Jugend Musiziert“ in 2013, Dominik-Pfahlberg-Stiftung in 2019 & 2021, the first Endinger Notenlese and was chosen to play Mozart A-Major violin Concerto with the Chamber Orchestra of the Musikhochschule of Freiburg in 2018.
Recieving his first violin lesson at the age of 5 from his mother, Beate Schad, he was also influenced by various other great musicians, such as William Hagen, Felix Mildenberger, Yoel Gamzou, Volker Worlitzsch, Jorge Sutil, Gunnar Persicke, Katharina Krüger, Iason Keramidis, Hansjacob Staemmler, Bernhard Metz and Ina Dimitrova.
In September 2021 , Julian Jakob will start his Master of Arts at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he will be studying with Prof. Jack Liebeck and Prof. Clio Gould.
