Yuri Koshihara
Piano
Born in Kanagawa, Japan, Yuri began studying the piano at the age of four.
She began taking Ballet lessons to enhance her rhythmic sensibility in music at the age of 6.
Due to her parents’ International backgrounds, she took lessons in English and Chinese Mandarin and won a Special prize for excellence in Mandarin at the 1st Global Chinese Reading Competition at the age of 9.
Yuri began to study piano seriously under the guidance of the pianist Clara Inaba in 2019. Thus, Yuri‘s first major achievement in piano performance was demonstrated by winning the highest score of Excellence at the ABRSM piano examinations in Japan in November 2019.
Representing Japan as the highest exam scorer, Yuri was invited to perform at the ABRSM Online Global High Scorers’ Concert in 2020.
Yuri continues her journey as a young aspiring pianist, and has won the First Prize at the Grand Classical Awards Competition of New York in 2021.
