Biography

 
Adriana Biaggi is a young Venezuelan pianist who began her musical studies at the age of 4 at the National System of Youth and Children’s Orchestras and Choirs of Venezuela (El Sistema). In 2014, she graduated from “José Reyna” Music Conservatory with Professor Marisabel Sánchez (Caracas, Venezuela). Then, she studied Keyboard Perfection with the Russian pianist Igor Lavrov. Having obtained a full scholarship in the United States, she got her Master's Degree in Collaborative Piano at Louisiana State University under the tutelage of Dr. Ana Maria Otamendi.  

At the age of twelve, she won the 1st Prize of level II in the "VII Angel Sauce National Venezuelan Piano Competition". At fourteen years old, she won the 3rd Prize in the III Latin American Piano Competition “American Union Project"; and at eighteen, she won the 3rd Prize in the "III Rosario Marciano National Piano Competition", all three held in Caracas, Venezuela. She has performed as a soloist, chamber musician and collaborative pianist in several Venezuelan concert halls and in some important concert halls of Spain, Brazil, and the United States.

In 2016, she participated in the Summer Course of the International School of Music of the Princess of Asturias Foundation held in the city of Oviedo, Spain. In January 2019, she participated in the Santa Catarina International Festival, held in Jaraguá do Sul, Brazil. She has attended master classes taught by pianists Claudia Yang (Malasia), Yuri Logatchov (Russia), Abraham Abreu (Venezuela), Manuel Laufer (Venezuela), Goulnara Galimchina (Russia), Alexandre Dossin (Brazil), Vivian Weilerstein (USA), Joseph-Maurice Weber (Switzerland), Martin Katz (USA), Marina Lomazov (Ukraine), and Joseph Rackers (USA).

She was a member of the Kayros Contemporary Chamber Ensemble, a group with which she participated in the XIX, XX and XXI "Atempo" International Festival of Contemporary Music during the years 2012, 2013, and 2014.

In 2006, she received a Special Distinction granted by “El Sistema” in the Vargas State Orchestra Foundation.

She worked in Caracas as a collaborative pianist in "Cantamérica" Voice Studio founded and conducted by Tenor Eduardo Melgar. She also worked in Venezuela as a piano teacher at “Manuel Alberto López” Experimental School of Music, "Emil Friedman" School of Music and “José Reyna” Conservatory of Music. She was also the collaborative pianist of the Orchestral Conducting Studio at Simón Bolívar University, conducted by Maestro Alfredo Rugeles. She is currently teaching at Piano Pathways and Yee Piano Studio in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA.

In addition to music, she got a BA in Translation (Spanish-English-French) from the School of Modern Languages ​​at the Central University of Venezuela.
