Biography
Regina was born in the Philippines. She started learning to play the violin at the age of seven with the Philippine Research for the Development of Instrumental Soloist (PREDIS) a non-government organization founded by Dean Emeritus of St. Scholastica’s College- School of Music, Sr. Mary Placid Abejo, OSB, and the late Philippine violinist, Basilio Manalo, at a summer workshop in 2002 under Michelle Bonaobra.
In 2017, she graduated from St. Scholastica’s College, Manila finishing her Bachelor of Music Major in Violin Performance where Jeffrey Solares and Denise Santos Huang mentored her. Also, in 2017, she was a finalist at the National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA), Senior Strings category. As a student, she has participated in masterclasses of foreign and Philippine violinists; Odin Rathnam, Diomedes Saraza, Dr. Shi Hwa-Wang, and Juan Munoz. Currently, she teaches at PREDIS. As part of her continuous learning and growth, Regina also attends seminars about music teaching or performing. She is a violinist of the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra. She reads self-help books for her past time and performs at Live Streaming apps. Currently, she is mentored by Juan Munoz.
