Biography
Karl Li started playing violin at age 3 with Joy Pan (Concertmaster for the Chandler Symphony Orchestra and the ASU Chamber Orchestra, Scottsdale’s La Forza Chamber Orchestra and MusicaNova Orchestra.). After moving to New York at age 5, he has been attending Hoff Barthelson Music School and has studied with Mrs. Peggy Klinger (taught at the London College of Music). For the last 10 years, Karl has been heavily engrossed in ensembles and orchestras. He was the concertmaster of the Westchester County elementary orchestra at age 10. In sixth grade, he was accepted as the youngest ever to Festival Orchestra, a nationally renowned high school orchestra, where he is the concertmaster now. At Festival Orchestra, Karl had the pleasure of being coached by members of the New York Philharmonic. In ninth grade, he was also the concertmaster of the Westchester County Junior Orchestra. Besides performing, he studies composition and AP music theory. In 2020, Karl won First Place in the American Protégé International Music Talent Competition.
