Biography
Klára Skalková (17 y.o.) is a Czech pianist. She has begun to play the piano at the age of four at music school in Mariánské Lázně under the leadership of her mother Marie Skalková. Currently she is attending the Conservatoire in Prague, specifically the class conducted by prof. Milan Langer.
She has participated in many national and international competitions. Her latest succeses are e.g. the second prize and the prize for the interpretation of Stravinsky´s / Agosti´s The Firebird in the international competition Virtuosi per musica di pianoforte 2021, the third prize on The Bach Journey, the award "Plzeňský Orfeus" for the representation of the classical music for 2020, the third prize in "Brno piano competition 2021", the third prize in the international competition "Broumov Key 2020" or Honour Award in online competition Neapolitan Masters Competition 2020. In December 2021 she became the Laureat of the international competition in Prague "Young Piano".When she was younger, she also has participated in Prague Junior Note (3. prize, 2019) or "Karlovarská růžička" (1. prize 2016). She has also played with orchestras several times (Piano concerto no. 1 by L. van Beethoven).
She also attends the international masterclasses, e.g. Masterclass for piano in Bad Steben (prof. Wolfgang Manz) or Sevcik academy (prof. Yuri Shadrin, Lukáš Vondráček).
