Biography
Pianist Artemy Sokolovsky
Artemy was born on June 12, 2004 in Moscow.
Now he is a student of the Moscow Gnessin Special School of Music in the class of Elena Berezkina, an Honoured Arts Worker of the Russian Federation, “The teacher of the year” of European league of the Russian Federation Commonwealth.
Artemy Sokolovsky wrote his first melody when he was 4 y.o. At the age of 5 he started learning to play the piano. At the age of 7 he performed on the stage of the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.
Artemy is a participant of numerous festivals, tours and concert projects. He performs with solo programs, as well as a soloist with various orchestras and chamber ensembles.
He is a winner of many International contests for young musicians, for example:
Grand Prix of ‘Recondite Armonie’ (Italy, 2015);
First prize laureate of the Russian Federal Contest 'Concerto for Piano and Orchestra' (Dubna, Russia, 2018);
Winner of the Moscow International Gnessin Summer School soloist competition (2018);
First prize winner of the Mayor grant as the soloist with Gnessin Virtuosos Orchestra (Moscow, 2018);
Grand Prix of the 2-nd John Field International Piano and Vocal Competition (Ireland, 2020);
First prize winner of the I-st International online competition «Art talents» (piano, professionals, 2020);
First prize laureate of the I International online competition of musical, performing and visual arts ‘Magic Muse’ (Moscow, 2021);
First prize winner of the I International Music Competition ‘Silk way’ (Europe – Russia – China, 2021).
Laureate of the XII Chopin International Piano Competition in Hartford (USA, 2021).
First prize award and Special Diploma issued by Fryderyk Chopin Society in Poland (Established in 1934) for the Best Performance of the Chopin Work at International Chopin Avenue Piano Competition (Hong Kong, China, 2021), etc.
He practiced in master classes by world famous professors and musicians, such as: Dmitry Bashkirov (Russia, Israel, Spain, Italy), Grigory Gruzman (Germany), Einar Steen-Nokleberg (Norway), Victor Ryabchikov (Russia), Antinio di Cristofano (Italy), Yulianna Avdeeva (Russia), Eduard Kunz (Israel, Russia), Mark Fouxman (USA), Oxana Yablonskaya (Israel), Eitan Globerson (Israel), etc.
Artemy performs in various locations: P.I. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory halls, Zaryadye Hall, Moscow Philharmonic, Pashkov House in Moscow, music halls and cathedrals in Italy (Arezzo, Siena, Grosseto, Roma, etc), Austria (Vienna), Netherlands (Amsterdam), Ireland (Dublin, Dundalk), Ukraine (Kyiv, ect.), Israel (Jerusalem, Maale Adumim, Karmiel), embassy receptions at the residences of the ambassadors of Germany, Norway, Hungary, concerts at the Moscow International House of Music, the Orchestrion Concert Hall, the museums of Tsvetaeva, Prokofiev, Gogol, Pushkin, Pavel Slobodkin Center, Opera House in Tsaritsyno Park, Yamaha Music Center, Kawai Centers, the Sakharov center, historical museums, art galleries, churches, cathedrals and many other concert venues. In summer 2021 Artemy Sokolovsky gave solo concerts in Israel.
Artemy Sokolovsky performed with renowned orchestras such as Russian National Orchestra (under the lead of Mikhail Pletnev), Orchestra of the center of Pavel Slobodkin, Kaluga Youth Symphony Orchestra named after Sv. Richter, Dubna Symphony Orchestra, orchestra "Gnessin virtuosos" etc. He cooperated with conductors Mikhail Khokhlov, Ilya Norstein, Arif Dadashev, Evgeny Stavinsky, Alexey Sobolev, Nikolay Azarov, with violinist Igor Rukhadze and international youth string ensemble (Netherlands-Russia-Germany), pianist Alexander Gindin, artistic group of soloists PercaRUS, Bolshoi Theater soloists and other musicians.
