Biography

Nicholas lives in West Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. He has studied bass with Meaghan Williams since April 2018 (age 9). Nicholas is a Level 10 Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) double bass candidate; he passed all prior levels with at least First Class Honours, up to First Class Honours with Distinction. He has won multiple prizes and distinctions in local and regional competitions. Very recently, he received the Honorable Award of the 2021 American Classical Young Musician Award for "extraordinary and inspiring performance".

He plays on a Romanian-made Gliga Gama Professional double bass.

He is a member of the Okanagan Symphony Youth Orchestra (OSYO) where he has been the principal bassist since 2020 and a participant in the Composition Program.

He is a senior member of the Kelowna Community Music School String Ensemble.

Nicholas also studies piano since age 5 and violin since age 8. He is a Level 8 RCM candidate in both instruments; he passed all prior levels with at least First Class Honours, up to First Class Honours with Distinction. He has won multiple prizes and distinctions in local and regional competitions with these instruments as well.

Nicholas enjoys playing his double bass in jazz jams, and also plays bass guitar with his school band.
