Biography
Rainers Liekniņš was born in 2004. He started studying cello at the age of 5 at Auces music school. He now studies at Emīls Dārziņš music school. He has participated in the Latvian youth centenary symphonic orchestra, which won the “The Great Music Award” which is the highest prize awarded by the Latvian state in the field of music. He has also go 3rd place in the “Latvian state music competition” in 2018 and 3rd place at the Lithuanian music competition “Kaunas Sonorum” in 2019. He has participated in masterclases with cellists Margarita Balanas and Leonard Elschenbroich.
