Biography
Dario Callà was born in Vibo Valentia on September 14, 2001 and began his musical studies at the age of seven at the Musikè Art Academy, under the guidance of M° Domenico Pizzi. At the age of 10 he entered at the conservatoire Fausto Torrefranca of Vibo Valentia with the M° Aurelio Pollice, where he finished the bachelor’s degree in piano in July 2020 with 110 cum laude. Now he attends the master in solo piano at the conservatoire of music Santa Cecilia in Rome with the M°Torchiani Alessandra. During his short musical career he participates and wins in various competitions in the regional territory, including: first prize at the National Music Competition "Senocrito" City of Locri in 2017, where he also won the award as "musician of the city of Locri"; the second award to 38° national music competition A.M.A. Calabria. There are also other second and third prizes. It is also important to mention, among the various concerts, the recital with the orchestra of conservatoire F. Torrefranca, occurred in May 2019 with the performance of the concert for piano and orchestra by W. A. Mozart in A major, the participation in the event "Piano Time" held in Tropea (VV) on 14 July 2019 organized by Armonie della Magna Graecia with music by Beethoven and Chopin and finally the solo recital organized by the association A.M.A. Calabria and the Conservatoire F. Torrefranca on 21 July 2020, with music by Rachmaninov, Chopin, Schumann and Liszt.
He also wrote an essay "Viaggio nella musica di Stravinsky" which was recently published inside of the first issue of the magazine "Quaderni di Analisi" edited by M°Domenico Giannetta, published by the conservatoire F. Torrefranca.
