Ondrej Sejkora

Biography

Ondřej Sejkora, born in 1998 started his double bass carrer at the Conservatoire Pardubice with František Machač in 2013.Currently he has been attending Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts  Brno He  has  performed  solos  with several  orchestras,  including Virtuosi  di  Praga,  Filharmonie Hradec Králové, Filharmonie Pardubice, Barocco sempre giovane, Janáčkova Filharmonie Ostrava...Ondřej has also been successful at many Double Bass competitions in the past decade, including winning first place and the winner of winners in the international František Simandl Competititon in Blatná in 2018, International K.D. von Dittersdorf Competition in Banská. Bystrice in 2018, International František Černý and Jan Geissel Competition in Holice in  2019,  International  Double  Bass  Solo Competition  in  Poland  in  2019.  Currently  he  is  focusing  in  his  studies,  solo  performances  with orchestras and propagating of double bass as solo instrument.
