Biography
Areg Navasardyan was born on 22.10.1999 in Yerevan, Armenia.
He began to study violin when he was 6 years old at the Yerevan Tchaikovsky Specialized School of Music under Professor Gagik Smbatyan.
Areg continued his studies with Professor Boris Kuschnir at the Precollege Division of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (KUG) from 2015 – 2019. In 2019 Areg started his BA studies at The Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK) with Professor Pavel Vernikov.
Areg won second place at HarmoniumOnlinePlus Competition 2020 (Alink-Argerich Foundation); second place at Demidovski International Competition VIII (2019), Ekaterinburg, Russia; second place in New York International Artists Competition 2014 (no first prize awarded); first place and best performance in American Protégé International Competition 2013.
In September 2019 Areg participated in Tsinandali Festival Academy, Georgia where he received masterclasses from Mihaela Martin, Gabor Takács-Nagy, and Pinchas Zukerman and performed in two concerts. In June 2019 Areg participated in Kronberg Academy Violin Masterclasses and Concerts and received masterclasses from Pavel Vernikov. In October 2015 Areg participated in Lac Leman Masterclasses Switzerland and played in concerts at Vevey and Geneve Conservatory. In August 2014 Areg participated in Crans-Montana Classics Violin Masterclasses, Switzerland organized by Shlomo Mintz and performed in concerts in Crans Montana. In 2012 Areg participated in Yuri Bashmet’s Children’s Music Academy in Samara, Russia and performed at the prestigious closing ceremony in Samara Academic Opera House.
Areg has participated in various concerts and festivals in Armenia, Russia, Georgia, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, and the USA, including in Carnegie Weill Hall and Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, concerts organized by UNESCO, and solo performances.
In August 2018 Areg gave a solo performance with the Italian pianist Guido Bottaro in Festival Paganiniani di Carro, Italy.
In October 2018 he performed a composition by Contemporary Italian Composer Virginio Zocatelli with Italian Youth Orchestra, conductor Marco Somadossi.
As a soloist, Areg has performed with The Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra, conductor Reinhard Seehafer; with Chamber Orchestra Licei-Camerata Ekaterinburg, conductor Anton Shnitkin, and with The National Chamber music of Armenia, conductor Vahan Mardirossian. In his recent Concert on 25 May, Areg performed The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi with The National Chamber music of Armenia, conductor Harutyun Arzumanyan.
