Luisa Gabrisch
Germany, Hamburg Hamburg Harp
Biography
Luisa Gabrisch was born as the oldest of three daughters in 2000. Due to a musical household with her mother as a singer and her father as a conductor, music has always been essential to her life. She started to play the violin and the piano before she chose the harp as her instrument at the age of nine.
Luisa was brought early to the orchestra and contributed in various youth orchestras since 2013. She was asked to step in at the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Düsseldorf for programs like „My fair Lady“ or „Nur“ by Benjamin Attahir.
Two years as a junior student at the „Robert-Schumann-Hochschule Düsseldorf“ prepared her for the qualification to study with Prof. Xavier de Maistre at the „Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg“. She started her studies right after her Abitur graduation in 2018 and will finish her Bachelor of Arts in summer 2022.
While in the class, she got the opportunity to work with harpists like Catherine Michel, Anaëlle Tourret, Sylvain Blassel, Nicolas Tulliez and Andreas Mildner.
Luisa won multiple first prices in the national round of „Jugend musiziert“ and played solo at the Gala for award winners in the Philharmonia of Cologne in 2017. One year later, she won the third price at the VDH (association of the harpists in Germany) competition in the Category up to 21 years. She played in the final round of the competition by the Franz Josef Reinl-foundation in Munich in 2019. This year, she won the third price at the VDH competition in the Category up to 28 years and was allowed to play in the second round of the International Harp Contest Israel.
Since the beginning of her studies, she is in demand by many orchestras around Hamburg, such as the Hamburger Camerata, Hamburger Symphoniker and the Hamburger Kammeroper, where she recently got to play Carmen as a seasonal project arranged for harp, viola and flute in the chamber opera house of Hamburg.
