Jairus Rhoades

Biography
Currently a senior at Punahou School, Jairus Rhoades has been playing the piano under the tutelage of Ms. Joana Zane Fan for 11 years. Jairus' many accolades span from the local to international level, including first prizes in the Hawaii Music Teachers Association competitions, first prize (tie) in the Aloha International Piano Festival competition, first prize in the Steinway Pano Competition, finalist prize in the MTNA senior piano duet national round, third prize at the Cooper International Piano Festival Competition, and first and audience prize in the Young Artist Division of the Aloha International Piano Competition. Jairus was also featured on NPR's From the Top show 330 with Christopher O'Riley, had the opportunity to play with the University of Hawai'i Symphony, and debuted at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall as a second prize winner from the American Protege competition. Jairus enjoys playing chamber music outside of solo piano and has been a member of the Chang piano Trio and Vaught piano quintet under the Punahou Chamber Music program for three years.
