Biography
Hi, I am Jurie Blignaut, a 15 year old Cellist, birder, golfer, tennis player and academic from Rustenburg, South Africa. I started playing cello at the age of 9, but wanted to start way before. I discovered the cello through the Piano Guys' Steven Sharp Nelson and immediately fell in love.
My musical journey started at the age of four when I started with piano lessons. I grew up listening to classical music nonstop and developed a love for it like none other. My favourite composers include Bach, Haydn, Chopin, Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff.
I am really glad to be able to participate in this competition and want all children to discover the amazing world of music, just like I was able to!
