Biography
Daphne started studying piano at the age of 7 with teacher Maria del Carmen Blanco, and viola at the age of 10 with teacher Pablo Vazquez Lara. In 2019, she participated in The Steinway Piano Competition at the Coral Gables Gallery, where she placed Top Five. Also, Daphne was awarded the First Prize in the 2019 Little Mozarts Competition in New York City for piano performance. During 2020, Daphne received the Third Prize in the Frost Young Artists Competition at the University of Miami Frost School of Music. She also was awarded First Prize Winner in Little Mozart Competition New York City 2020 and she was honored with the First Prize in Piano and Second Prize in Viola at the 2020 International Music Competition ‘Salzburg’ Grand Prize Virtuoso. She, again, participated in the same competition, in 2021, and was awarded First prize in Piano and Second prize in viola. She also participated in the 2021 International Music Competition ‘Bonn’ Grand Prize Virtuoso for piano, she achieved First prize in this competition as well. In the Second International Piano Competition, Singapore 2020, Daphne achieved bronze award in the Piano Solo Junior Talent Category. In the Medici International Competition, in 2021, Daphne received Third Prize for viola. This year, she also received First Prize in the Little Mozart’s Competition and Second Prize for the 1st Swiss International Music Competition, for Viola as well.
As part of Daphne’s school curriculum, she was Principal Viola for the Walter C. Young Middle School Orchestra in 2019. She was the Assistant Principal Viola of the Florida Youth Orchestra (Symphony Orchestra) in 2021. Currently, She is attending New World School of the Arts’ Music Program for Viola.
Daphne continues her studies in the musical performing arts and hopes to become a professional musician in the future.
