Biography

Jonas Klepper (1996) took his first cello lessons with Joseph Hasten and later on with Kirill Kravtsov. In 2017 he started his bachelor studies with Jan Ickert at HfMDK Frankfurt where he successfully graduated in 2021. For his masters degree he will be continuing his studies in the class of Michael Sanderling. Showing great interest in chamber music as well as contemporary music he is regularly working with Lucas Fels, Tim Vogler and Angelika Merkle. 

His concerts led him to concert halls such as Berliner Philharmonie, Kölner Philharmonie and Elbphilharmonie where he played with orchestras such as Ensemble Reflektor, Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, Junge Norddeutsche Philharmonie and the Schleswig Holstein Festival Orchestra where he participated in 2019.

Conductors whom he worked with include Kiril Stankow, Jakob Lehmann, Jörg Widmann, Nigel Kennedy, Manfred Honeck, Michael Sanderling and Christoph Eschenbach.

At the regional and national stage of German youth competition “Jugend Musiziert” he got awarded multiple prices in chamber music, contemporary and solo categories.

Jonas participated in several masterclasses with Josef Schwab, David Geringas, Daniel Müller-Schott, Maximilian Hornung and Jan Ickert.
