Biography

An-chi Mai was born in 2002 in Taipei. She started to play the piano when she was 6 years old and started to win several small competitions in Taiwan from the age of 7.


At the age of 10, she was the youngest finalist in the 2012 Steinway Youth Piano Competition and it was her first time to play in the most prestigious concert hall in Taiwan: the National Concert Hall.

At the age of 12, she was again the youngest finalist in Steinway Youth Piano Competition and played in the National Concert Hall. Few months later, she won the 3rd prize in the Gulangyu Piano Competition for Children in China.

At the age of 13, she participated in Music Fest Perugia in Italy and performed Beethoven concerto no.1 with the orchestra.

At the age of 14, she participated in the 13th Taipei youth Chopin piano competition and was invited to play in concerts as a winner.

In order to complete her dream to become a pianist, after her concert in Taipei, she began to study in Paris. She entered Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris and started to learn with Elena Rozanova and Michel Beroff. She won twice the Concours International Piano Competition of Ile-de-France at the age of 15 and 16 (2nd prize and 1st prize) and was invited to Italy to perform piano recitals near the lake Iseo and Brescia.

Recently, she won the special prize golden medal with distinction at the International Manhattan Competition and International Berliner Competition,1st prize in International Piano Talents Competition Milan,  in addition the 1st prize in NTUE Taipei International Piano Competition.

She is now studying with Michel Dalberto and Claire Marie Le Guay in Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris.
