Caterina Ayane Caiani

Biography

Caterina Ayane Caiani was born in 2007 in Florence, Italy. She is currently deepening her knowledge of violin technique at the Fujairah Fine Arts Academy in UAE, with Maestra Daria Nechaeva. Caterina began playing the violin at the age of 3 with her mother and Maestro Luigi Gamberini. Since 2015 she has also attended during the summer an intensive study program with Maestro Atsushi Shimizu in Tokyo, Japan.

Caterina Ayane is a daughter of an Italian engineer and a Japanese violin teacher. She also plays the piano and study composition. She is also passionate about playing chamber music and is determined to become a professional musician one day.

At the age of six Caterina had her performance debut in the “Salone dei 500” in Palazzo Vecchio in Florence as winner of a special prize at the “International Music Competition Crescendo”, playing in her first soloist concert. Since then she has played as a soloist several times and has acquired a considerable repertoire ranging from baroque to contemporary music. She has won first prizes and special awards at national and international music competitions. In October 2020 she was the only Italian young violinist to be admitted to the 21st International Television Contest for Young Musicians “The Nutcracker” in Moscow.

She has participated in auditions and masterclasses of leading violin professors, such as Salvatore Accardo, Pavel Vernikov, Igor Voloshine, Krzysztof Wegrzyn, Alain Meunier, Eva Erna Szabo and Karin Regina Florey. She plays a 4/4 violin made by the Master Luthier Paolo Vettori of Florence.
