Biography

Danilo Kulišić was born in 1998 in Zvornik (Republica Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina). At the age of three he showed great interest in music. His uniqueness, originality and talent for music was discovered when he was seven. It was the time when he enrolled in music school in Zvornik (piano and accordion). At the age of eight he started to perform and was very successful at piano competitions. He acquired the recognition of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina for the success in 2008. Danilo also got the prize ’Dositej’ from the Foundation for Young Talents of Serbia for a remarkable success achieved in the course of 2012 and 2013. He has performed and acquired more than 40 first prizes all over the world so far- in the USA (New York), France (Paris - "Anton Rubinstein" and "Alexandre Scriabin"), Italy (Bologna - "Marco Fortini"), Czech Republic (Ust nad Labem), Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, and for fourteen times he was an absolute winner. In 2014 as the winner of American Protégé competition held in New York City he performed at Carnegie Hall. He also gave a humanitarian concert in Saint Sava church in New York City. In the same year president of Serbia, welcomed Danilo in New York in the building of a mission of United Nations and Prime Minister awarded Danilo with the recognition for the most successful student in the same year. In 2015 he performed at the world summit of lawyers in the palace of Serbia which was hosted by the Serbian Minister of Defence. From 2016 to 2020 he performed for the City Day of Novi Sad in “Gradska Kuca Hall” and in 2019 he performed in the hall of the Provincial Government in Novi Sad. He was a participant of the music festival “A Fest” in Novi Sad where he performed solo piano pieces and as accompanist. In the end of 2019 his “Duo Kulisic” gave a concert of contemporary music in the gallery of Milos Crnjanski where they performed pieces of the most famous contemporary composers of today: Uros Rojko, Mayako Kubo, Stefan Froileyks, Nicholas Brass, Jaime Padros. His solo repertoire contains many works from all epochs, from Baroque to works of Contemporary music. His most notable chamber ensemble is “Duo Kulisic”, which mostly includes Contemporary music pieces originally composed for piano and accordion and pieces transcribed for these two instruments from all epochs. Danilo is performing with plenty more chamber ensembles which include string instruments, wind instruments and vocals.  He
recently graduated at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad in the piano class of prof. Iris Kobal.
Now, he became a Master student at Florida International University in the piano class of
professor and pianist Kemal Gekic. He improved his knowledge and the art of pianism at master classes with prof. Kemal Gekić, prof. Kalman Drafi, prof. Andrei Ivanovitch, prof. Victoria Mushkatkol, prof. Iris. Kobal, prof. Rita Kinka, prof. Đorđe Milojković, prof. Arbo Valdma, prof. Igor Laszko, prof. Svetlana Bogino, prof. Aleksandar Serdar, prof. Valentina Nenasheva.
