Bruno Ribeiro

Biography

I started my studies at the age of 13, through a small project in Alfenas, in the inland of Brazil. Since then, I have fallen in love with music, especially chamber music, having participated in quartets, trios and duos throughout my musical training. In 2009 I started to study with Nelson Rios, violinist of São Paulo`s string quartet, which led me to go farther in the study of the repertoire for string quartets. In 2014 I held an undergraduate in history. From 2015 to 2018 I completed another undergraduate course in Music, at the State University of Minas Gerais, whose curriculum framework offers classes in chamber music taught by several teachers from the institution itself, and had as a requirement, the practice in different instrumental formations. Among quartets, duos and quintets, and chamber orchestra. In 2018, I funded, with Otávio Lamonier e Sara Bittencourt, the Guarambá Piano Trio. In the last year of my undergraduate degree in music, Trio Guarambá allowed me to grow, not, only technically and musically, but also as a professional and human being. It was also possible to develop musical and social skills that I consider indispensable for the profession, and it was acquired by collaborate and learn from other musicians. Now, I am starting a new phase. In 2020 I was approved for the Master in Chamber music, at the Liceu´s Conservatory, in Barcelona/Spain. Due to the pandemic, the start of my course was postponed for 2021, and I am in search for economic support to live and study in Barcelona during 9 months. I believe that The Worldvision contest can be one way to support and encourage music students, making possible for us to continue to teaching, practicing, and learn music.
