Associate concertmaster of Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra, Rimma Benyumova is building an international reputation as an outstanding and versatile young string soloist, which the New York Concert Review described as “consistent, energetic playing, plunged into the music with total immersion, and with just the intensity that the piece warrants”.

A graduate of the Berlins University of Arts and “Hanns Eisler” University of Music, where she studied with Natalia Preshipenko, Tomasz Tomaszewski and Ulf Wallin, Rimma is a former major prize winner at the V. Tretyakov, D.Oistrakh, Schoenfeld and Anton Rubinstein International Violin Competitions.

Her recent engagements include solo performances with the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra “I Pomeriggi Musicali” Milano, Russian State Symphony Orchestra, Harbin Symphony Orchestra, The Moscow Virtuosi Chamber orchestra, the Moscow Chamber Orchestra “Kremlin”, Chamber Orchestra “Russian Camerata”, among others.

She has also performed at numerous renown music venues that have included a State Dinner at the Bellevue Palace in Berlin honoring Federal President of Germany Joachim Gauck, Carnegie Hall, Berlin Philharmonie, Moscow International Performing Arts Center, Teatro del Vermo Milano, Harbin Philharmonie, Piano Salon Christophori Berlin and many others.

Among the concertmeister position in Dresden, her orchestral experience includes the Academy of Deutsche Oper Orchestra in Berlin, Russisch-Deutsche Music Academy under the baton of Valery Gergiev as well as guest performances in orchestras such as Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin, Konzerthaus Orchester Berlin, Würth Philharmonikern, Mariinsky Theater Orchestra.

During her studies Rimma was respectively a scholarship holder of AD Infinitum Foundation Berlin, Oscar und Vera Ritter Foundation Hamburg,Yamaha Foundation of Europe, German National Scholarship, Moscow Rotary club Prize, Ottillie-Selbah-Redslob Scholarship. She's also a member of Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Foundation.
