Biography
Jeremy Jahng, the first prize winner of 2021 American Viola Society Festival Competition Junior Division is a violist pursuing advancement and performance opportunities in viola to become a professional musician. At age ten, he started playing instruments including viola and is now fifteen years old attending high school. He has been studying with Mr. Toby Appel and Ms. Joohyun Kate Kim at the Juilliard Pre-College since September 2019. He was a co-principal violist in Julliard Pre-College String Ensemble in 2019. His performance history includes solo performances at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in 2019. He was also invited as a soloist at a New York Classical Player orchestra concert in 2020. He was the grand prize winner of 2021 New York Laureate International Music Competition. He was a first prize winner of 2021 New York Virtuoso International Competition, 2019 National Artist Competition, 2019 New York International Music Competition, and 2019 Manhattan International Music Competition.
